Maybe you’re wondering what would be a good first rc airplane to buy. When I am asked that question, one of my favorites recommendations is a plane that I fly often, the Hobbyzone Champ.
The Champ comes complete with motor, battery, charger, radio and is ready to fly (RTF) right out of the box! Maybe best of all, this great little rc airplane today is selling for less than $90.
I particularly like flying in my yard, where the grass is soft and unplanned landings won’t damage the plane. If should bang into the deck and ding the foam fuselage or wings, then a bit of clear tape or a touch of foam-safe glue has it back in the air ASAP. It’s best on no-wind days, will take off from the sidewalk in just a few feet and usually flies for 10 minutes or so on a full charge.
You can even fly it inside a large building when the outside weather is bad and when you’re done, just put the Hobbyzone Champ back in the box/carrying case, stick in the back of the car and you’re ready to go!
